Mindfulness Power Quotes: How to Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness is simple in theory, but transformational. Being mindful is the practice of being radically present. We often worried about the past or future.

Let’s talk about this sacred self-care practice in my Facebook Goddess Group for incredible women [link].

Mindfulness is Your Super Power

by Calm Coach Jamie of

One of the best gifts I received when starting my journey to calm three years ago was learning how to live in the present moment.

As someone who has almost always been future-minded and who has a tendency to worry about what’s to come, practicing mindfulness has allowed me to feel a sense of calm, even when things aren’t happening the way I want, and I worry less since I’m focused on what’s happening now.

It’s not easy to get to get to that point (and I still have my struggles from time to time), so here is a collection of quotes to remind you to stay present and be where you are:

  1. “Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.” – Buddha
  2. “The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
  3. “Accept that living in the present moment, with your present desires, is the best, the highest thing you can do.” Deepak Chopra
  4. “Don’t live in the past (unless you want guilt) or worry about the future (unless you want fear), but stay focused on today (in case you want happiness).” – Steve Chandler
  5. Every moment is a golden one to those who have the visions to recognize it as such.” – Henry Miller
  6. “In this moment, there is plenty of time. In this moment, you are precisely as you should be. In this moment, there is infinite possibility.” – Victoria Moran
  7. “Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different.” – James Baraz
  8. “Wherever you are, be all there.” – Jim Elliot
  9. “You should enjoy the present moment because this is all you have. Create for tomorrow, but live in and for today.” – Robert Anthony
  10. “Mindfulness is the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience. It isn’t more complicated than that. It is opening to or receiving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is, without either clinging to it or rejecting it.” – Sylvia Boorstein
  11. “If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath.”  – Amit Ray
  12. “Being mindful means that we suspend judgment for a time, set aside our immediate goals for the future, and take in the present moment as it is rather than as we would like it to be.” – Mark Williams
  13. “Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).” – James Baraz
  14. “There’s only one reason why you’re not experiencing bliss at this present moment, and it’s because you’re thinking or focusing on what you don’t have…But right now, you have everything you need to be in bliss.” – Anthony de Mello
  15. “We have only now, only this single eternal moment opening and unfolding before us, day and night.” – Jack Kornfield
  16. “Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.” – Eckhart Tolle
