[dropcap]L[/dropcap]ove it or hate it, Chicas, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and that means two things if you’re dating; awkward gift buying and great sexpectations.
Let’s face it, if you’re budget-conscious a night in the bedroom is far cheaper than a meal out, and you’re guaranteed to have more fun in 120 minutes between the sheets than you would at watching a rom-com at the local cinema. A-hem!
If you’re more nervous about the sex than the gifts, then read on, as we have plenty of passionista tips to ensure your hot night in, isn’t a flash in the er, pan.
1. Set the Scene.
Your bedroom should feel like a warm, enticing sanctuary, not somewhere where you’ll have one eye on the overflowing laundry basket while attempting your best moves.
Change the sheets, draw the curtains and light some candles or turn the lights down low.
Opt for textures such as silk throws or tactile cushions and make sure the room is warm enough; after all, this is the place where you’ll be spending your whole evening. Make sure any sexsessories, such as massage oil, condoms or lube are easily accessible and set the tone with chilled out music.
2. Pamper Time.
Like any good night out, getting ready is half the fun and staying in should be no different. Once you step in the door from work, try to shake off the stresses of the day with a warm bath or listening to your favorite music. Pamper yourself, slap on some of the posh moisturizer you tell yourself you’ll use daily but never do, and relax with a glass of your favorite tipple.
If you want to apply make-up or cover yourself in body glitter then now is the time, or you could opt for a natural look by wrapping your hair in curlers to add volume and giving yourself a mini mani/pedi.
3. Prep, Prep, Prep.
Even if Valentine’s Day isn’t really your bag, there’s nothing like a good excuse for romantic night in, so make sure you plan ahead. Late January is the time to start doing a few extra sit-ups and investing in bust enlargement creams if you’re self conscious (hehe) or shopping for new underwear. For sexy gift ideas, consider making your own sexy IOUs to exchange on the big night, with the promise of romantic meals, cheeky weekends away, and DIY massages throughout the year.
On second thought; please note: This is one frigging night a year. Don’t invest all of your hopes and dreams on it!!
4. Crank Up the Confidence, Babygirl.
If you’re in a stable loving relationship, your sexual confidence will hopefully be sky high already, but if it’s not then just do your best to relax and think about not only how lucky you are to have your partner, but how lucky they are to have you, too.
Lingerie or sexy sleepwear can help you feel spectacular in the bedroom and dimmed lights can disguise your cute dimpled thighs, but once you both get naked, the last thing he’ll be thinking about is your supposed cellulite or wonky bellybutton! Turn up the lights. YOU are gorgeous.
M’wah! Have fun. Do you have any more tips for making Valentine’s Day a night to remember?
